Transient low flows/levels

The transient projections of present and future river flows and groundwater levels are also available to view on the Portal. These have been expressed in flow (or level) percentiles:

  • Q90 / L90 (The flow in cubic metres per second or the level in m AOD which was equalled or exceeded for 90% of the record)
  • Q70 / L70
  • Q50 / L50
  • Q30 / L30 (The flow in cubic metres per second or the level in m AOD which was equalled or exceeded for 30% of the record)

The map shows the change in transient flows or levels which you can choose to express as absolute change or % change. You can view the change between the:

  • Baseline (BL): 1989–2018 and Near Future (NF): 2020–2049
  • Baseline (BL): 1989–2018 and Far Future (FF): 2050–2079

By clicking a site on the map, a plot is shown where you can view the 12 transient runs and the median. By changing the model and flow or level percentiles you can update the plot.
