This web application can be used to explore a variety of hydrological models in the context of UKCP18 climate projections. In total there are 14 hydrological models available in the portal1. For each model, there are 12 model runs, each corresponding to a different climate ensemble member.
A range of flow quantiles are available to view, capturing the full range of flow conditions for each catchment. These flow quantiles have been calculated both annually and seasonally.
Comparisons between the models can be viewed using the following map views:
- Number of models run for each gauge
- The mean percentage change across all models and ensemble members (model runs)
- Total uncertainty across all models (highest value minus lowest value)
These can also be viewed for a variety of 30 year time windows and global warming levels.
Clicking on an individual catchment plots the full range of models and ensemble members for a range of time slices or warming levels.
Single model results can also be viewed, with plots for individual catchments showing how the metric changes over time or between warming levels.
Note that all values provided as percentage changes are calculated from the baseline (1985–2015).
